I cut it pretty close “last night” (Friday night). One minute I’m at the top of my game, finding ways to get my steps in here and there; the next, it’s 10:00 pm and I’ve just realized I completely forgot about my steps and I’m still 4,000 short of my 15,000 steps goal. I never imagined I’d be able to get my heart rate up by walking laps in a small hotel room, but it happened. I felt silly, but I was determined to hit my step goal and I did it.

Then “today” (Saturday) happened. I started off the morning with a walk to breakfast from the hotel. When we got back home from our mini “staycation,” the kids and I walked to the library and grocery store. I took extra steps around the house walked up and down the stairs at home a few times. I was on a roll and well on my way to hit my step goal.
And then I got distracted.
A friend joined us for dinner, and somehow we ended up falling down the YouTube rabbit hole until midnight. By the time I checked my watch, my steps had already reset. I failed. Not only did I not hit my step goal, but I also forgot to write my post for the day. Hence this super late, written after midnight, post – brought to you by the WordPress app on my phone; to be edited later in the morning after a good night’s rest.
It’s frustrating to fail, again, but there’s nothing I can do about it now. All I can do is start over again “tomorrow” (Sunday). And I will.
