I logged all of my meals yesterday and the calories I ate added up to a whopping 2,140! That was despite making an effort to start my day off right with a protein shake and snacking less because I had to pay attention to portion sizes in order to log them. I won’t get into the whole “how many calories should I be eating” thing in this post, but suffice it say, that if yesterday was at all representative of how much I normally eat, I should be grateful I haven’t gained any weight since I started this challenge.

Yesterday, I restarted the Strong program I wrote about in my Day 4 post, so I decided to go for a run this morning. It’s definitely a lot easier to hit my daily step goal when I run. By the time I left for work, I had already taken over 7,000 steps.
We had invited some friends over for dinner this evening, so I was initially concerned I’d get distracted, lose track of time, and end up ruining my streak by not reaching my goal. Luckily, I hit 12,500 steps in the early afternoon and managed to make it to 16,000 steps before dinner, without really trying. Walking the dog after dinner pushed me over the 19,000 steps mark. I’m tempted to walk a few laps around the house so I can hit 20,000 steps for the day, but it’s late and I’m pretty tired.
I also logged all my meals today. At 1,712 calories, today’s total wasn’t as bad as yesterday’s, but it was unintentional. I was so tired from working, running errands, and cooking dinner for everyone, that I forgot to eat dinner myself. My stomach is whining about it now, but I’m too lazy to go back downstairs to make myself something to eat. Oh well, I’ll be back up and ready to eat breakfast in a few hours anyway. Sleep wins this round tonight.
