Yesterday was a total shit show.
It started out ok. I updated my MyFitnessPal goals to better track my protein intake. I was eating all the protein. But then, lunch time rolled around, and instead of eating a healthy, filling lunch, I ate some snacks. Then I ate some more. By the time dinner rolled around, I had less than 300 calories left.
That’s not even where things got out of control though. I used the calories I had left to eat a full serving of pork loin with veggies, and skipped the side of rice. I ended up slightly over 1,700 calories for the day, but not by much. I also came pretty close to hitting my protein goal.
Then my husband had to go and make himself some popcorn to snack on while we watched TV. I swear, it’s like a switch was flipped and my crazy inner binge eater was unleashed. You can see on my spreadsheet below where I had to white out my previous, lower calorie total of 1,716 to write the new, higher total of 2,214.
I’m honestly amazed I didn’t finish the evening over 3,000 calories. I mean, I’ve had a lot of binges that were way worse than this, and technically, this really wasn’t even a binge. I basically ate maintenance calories. How I showed any semblance of restraint is a mystery to me. Maybe subconsciously I’m getting better at this whole calories in, calories out (CICO) thing? I don’t know. All I know is the damage was done, but it wasn’t a total bloodbath. I can still redeem myself and the week.

The official weigh-in for the month-long DietBet I signed up for was earlier this week. Despite the darn water weight fluctuations I’ve been struggling with, I managed to scrape by and “win.” In other words, I didn’t lose my money. I don’t know how much I’ll get in terms of the payout, but from what I’ve read online, I’m not expecting much.
I also had to weigh-in today for the 6-month DietBet I’m participating in. After yesterday’s unplanned maintenance calorie day, it’s a miracle I still came in under my goal weight for the month. I was seriously expecting another increase in water weight.
I switched Sunday’s rest day to this morning, and pushed my two remaining workouts for the week to tomorrow and Sunday. I was tired and sore, and I figured it wouldn’t hurt since I won’t be working out while on vacation anyway. I am considering going for a slow jog later though, just to get my muscles loose and do some stretching afterwards; but we’ll see how that goes.
